Coming Clean
I have been teaching online classes since 2018 and I know they have been enriching lives. It is such a wonderful honor to watch my students grow as artists and technicians, My students have come from all types of people, from all types of backgrounds. Their art is immensely important to me.
I give each and every one of my students 100. I keep the price of my Mentorship Program low because I want my students to afford my classes as well as the materials they need to excel in their work. My Mentorship Program includes a weekly 2-hour class that is one on one and a group 2-hour class as well. This way I can meet each student at the level they are at and meet them around their busy schedules. Without me doing this, they would not be able to attend. I currently have 9 students (some are with me for over 1 year now) and I am so very excited to be a part of their growth as artists.
Luke 18:27 (NIV) Jesus replied, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.”
I don’t hold anything back from my students. All of my formal education in art and art history is freely given to them. All the knowledge of technique and technology is theirs for the taking. God, has blessed me with this information and I am so blessed to be able to share that. Financially, I am not sure if I am will be able to sustain this business model. In the natural, it seems impossible. I know if I do my best and honor God, I can leave the results up to Him. If we grow financially and we can continue, I will praise Him, if it all fails, I will still praise Him.
All that is good in me and what I am able to give my students comes from the goodness of God. I take no credit for that. I thought of not sharing my faith here on social media but it is time for me to let people know why I do what I do. I was blessed and I want to bless others. The kindness I give was first given to me. The acceptance I give was first given to me. In my classrooms and my livestreams there are no silly questions. If I am doing all of this to get subscribers and commissions then those are much too small of reasons. I must do this because I want to show that God wants to give you inspiration as well.
With only 9 students it can look bleak. It appears that my little art school online will not survive, but I know that appearances are not the last word.
Luke 18:27 (NIV) Jesus replied, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.”
It is not up to me to give up and throw in the towel. It is up to the one who is sovereign over all things to decide.
Revelation 3:8 (NIV) I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.
I will bloom where I am planted and I will not move until He says so. Now, I will continue on the path. I wanted to write this post to reveal my motives and why I do what I am doing. I love what I do and I am looking at the big picture when I am teaching my students. I am a Christian and I include everybody, every religion, male, female, kids, and older folks, for everyone is welcome to join in the love of creating. Trust me, I will show you all of the amazing and wonderful creations that are just waiting to come out of you.
Those are good , honest thoughts Tim and I appreciate your words , skill and hard work.
As I know, trying to share your enjoyment is an almost impossible task !
Keep doing what you are doing.
With the greatest respect
Jack

You, my friend, are a blessing to all of us. Your Mentorship program truly is second to none. I cannot begin to list all I have had the privilege of learning from you. My artistic skills have reached levels I never thought possible. I have more knowledge about art history than I’ve ever had in my life, thanks to you. Tim, your walk with God is evident every single day. You always seek out the best in people…and breathe life into those that need it most. God loves you… and we do too!
